On December 13, 2025, Iman Nasir presented her Doctoral Capstone Project at the American Occupational Therapy Association Children & Youth Specialty Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. Nasir's project titled “More Than Toys: Exploring the Use of Culturally Diverse Toys and Books in Play Therapy” was developed with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Acute Care unit and included contributing authors: Bridget Trivinia, OTD, OTR/L; Lydia Rawlins MEd, OTR/L, and Kellie Sawyer, OTD, OTR/L.
The poster presentation provided practical methods for culturally responsive occupational therapy practice through the exploration of barriers and strategies for incorporating diverse toys in pediatric acute care settings.
